The starting point
KernelAI began with the idea of running open AI models on an iPhone and keeping conversations on the device. Choosing a model and starting a chat needed to feel approachable on a small screen.
What we built
The mobile app brings model selection and chat into one experience. Local model execution shapes how the product works, with the interface built around using AI directly on the phone.
The result
KernelAI launched as a mobile product and reached more than 20,000 downloads at release. The app gives users a way to have AI conversations on their own device.
